    Default Slingshot band rot

I have two wrist rockets, that I put new bands on about 3 months ago. They havnt been used in about 2 months and are already starting to show signs of rot on the bands. ANyone have any tips for preserving power bands and preventing rot?

Store them under nitrogen in a cool environment.

    Or don't use latex.

I've got about 4 of them sitting around. Had one out on the back porch through winter and spring, works just fine and not showing signs of cracking. Cheap rubber maybe?

Nope, just hanging up in the garage. Perhaps temperature changes effected them?

I carry one in my car. Use it to launch treats into the river for my dog. Use it often and the "Daisey" brand have lasted about 2 years before they start to tear right at thee end of the metal handle where they slide on.

Imagine one of the things breaking at full stretch and heading for your eye!

Funny how the world works. I bought new bands for my Diablo last week. It has sat for years without any and I ran across some at Bi-Mart. No idea how good they are but for $3.99 I don't know what to expect.
