Thread: OAL/folding stock question

Is a rifle legal (federal) if it has a 16.5" pinned barrel with a side-folding stock that measures 25" OAL closed and 35" OAL open? I know rifles need to have an overall of 26" but is that with the stock in the open position or the folded up position? Is 25" folded an NFA item? Thanks.

Well you did answer your own question.

16" + barrel and 26" + OAL measured from extreme ends.

There are a couple of states that do weird numbers and measuring but WA an OR follow Federal law.

Yup. I just wanted to be sure. The way the laws are written it's so grey-area/hard to define BS.
