Default WA Senate vote on silencer bill 5112 may be close.

One of our friends on the Subguns board says he got a message from Joe Waldron (WA Arms Collectors) saying that the Senate vote will not be the landslide it was in the House. He thinks the vote will be next week. Link to Subguns thread. WA state SB5112 update write your senators!!

All it takes is an e-mail to remind them. Find your Senator here; Find Your Legislator

List of Senator e-mail addresses here; https://dlr.leg.wa.gov/MemberEmail/D...aspx?Chamber=S Even if you wrote them last month, it is a good idea to write to them again. We have the whole weekend to write to every one of these people. This is the best chance we'll ever have to change the law, so let's not blow it.

Write up a nice short e-mail telling them why you feel they should vote yes on bill 5112 and send it to as many as you can. You can remind them that no one showed in Olympia during the Judiciary hearings to oppose the bills, that there is very little crime associated with suppressors and the police want this bill to pass.

The Washington Council of Police and Sheriffs (WACOPS) sent a representative to both Judiciary hearings and enthusiastically supported the bills. The police need this bill passed as the law currently forbids suppressor use by the police and military in WA State. Here is a link to their letter supporting the bill. http://s171.photobucket.com/albums/u...COPSletter.jpg

Cease Fire Washington is taking a neutral stance on the silencer use bill. Unfortunately I was not able to get this in writing from them. You can ask them to contact Michael Wolfe if they want his opinion on the issue.

Better that you send your e-mails to each Senator individually. Put all of the Senators on one e-mail and it might head for their spam directory instead of the in-box. Thanks.

I e-mailed every Senator except for the sponsors and the Judiciary committee members. I do not really expect to get replies, but hopefully they will actually read the e-mails and give the bill a chance.

My google-fu is weak this morning; I can't find a list of the Judiciary committee members. Would you mind posting it?

I'm in Senator Honeyford's district and I'm pretty sure he is pro-gun. But I just sent some more emails anyways!

    Kimber Custom,

Don't stop there, e-mail as many others as you can please. While they probably will not reply, it can get them to think about it. Educate them on how it is legal to own and use a silencer in most other states and what we go through to own them here. Yours might be the e-mail that they think about when it is time to vote yes or no on the Senate floor.

I have been trying to reach Rules committee members on the phone, but it is difficult. Their aides are not willing to set up a time to talk to their Senator on the phone or arrange a meeting. They may be more willing to speak to a person in their district. If anyone is in the district of the following Rules committee members, please call them on the phone and urge them to get bill 5112 placed on the floor calendar for a second reading.

I emailed Pam Roach. Noticed on her site, it was not listed as one she supports.

Senator Roach was one of the two thta told me they did not support the bill. The other was Represenative Hargrove, the freshman Republican. Hargrove eventually voted yes in the House and Roach supported it in the Senate Judiciary committee.
