Per-capita murder rates at State/Province level
I was having a debate with some Canadian friends (one is pro-defense/gun), one friend claimed that US murder rates were much higher due to 300M guns, and the pro-gun friend came back with this article and great per-capita statistics (regardless of weapon/method). It was interesting data. The Canadian provinces and territories are highlighted below.

Yukon should be closer to Nunavut and the NWT - I suspect they just don't record the data.
Life is hard in the northern 2/3 of Canada. Not much going on up there.
