Thread: Northeast Region Hunters Chime in please

Hey guys. I was lucky enough to get an antlerless tag in the Zumwalt area this year! The hunt area is the southern part of the Chesnimnus hunt unit. Hunt 258A2 to be exact.
The hunt is Dec 3rd-11th. Anybody here hunt in that area, during these times?
Im originally from Utah, and am used to hunting in the snow/cold. Im assuming thats what it will be like, but I have no experience with the Wallowa area during the winter.
Im excited, they are actually going to allow hunting on the Zumwalt Praire, ONLY to the lucky 50 hunters that got this tag! SWEET!

I have hunted other areas of the Chesnimnus unit and there are plenty of Elk. If you get in there and hunt hard I suspect you'll be rewarded. I would call the ODFW office thats in charge of that area. Antlerless tags are issued because they want the animals thinned out so they should be more than willing to help you be in the right place at the right time.
