    Default Berger VLD Hunting Bullets

Anybody out there used these on game yet? I've got a great load out of my 300 WM, but a bit hesitant about using a hollow-point on something like bear or elk.

I don't have any personal experience, but I suggest you check out Long Range Hunting dot com.

I am Loading some 168's for my 300 wby. I have a friend that killed an elk at 500 yards with his 7mm mag, 168grn'er.

I'm currently using the 168s as well with great results. How fast can you push them out of the Weatherby?

I've used the 7mm 168's on Blacktails and Elk. They work great, but like any bullet, they have their limitations. I would not recomend them at high velocities or close range, but at 400yds. out to 1800fps., they really put em' down. I use Accubonds and Partition Golds in the timber.
