    The debate goes on....the best one for defense is the one you have with you. Police used .38 for many years and it was effective. Use the one you can handle best for the situation and if you HAVE to use it...it will be close quarters so dime sized groups dont matter....

    I got a SP-101, actually chambered in .38 spec. It shoots sweet, because it's heavier frame is made for the .357, but the cylinder/barrel is .38 spec. Low recoil with full power plus p. If I need a .357 mag, to carry around the woods, I'll grab a 6" GP-100. For city critters, .38spec is all you should need, in your snubby. Plus there are so many plus p hollow points out there, hydrashok, gold dot, golden sabre, hornady xtp, all good.
