Default Remington 597 - Hole in bolt...Safe to fire?

So I am cleaning my 597, notice this (see pictures below). I can't recall this ever being there before. I probably shot...3000-5000 rounds through this gun. What can I do? I am past the two year warranty. Is it even safe to shoot?

    Thanks guys,

I was cleaning my 597 for the first time yesterday and noticed the same thing. It just doesn't look like it's there on purpose. Oddly, I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one.
