Thread: Which would be easier &/or cheaper to do?

I have a pre-victory S&W HE in .38 S&W with cylinder reamed out for .38 Special. Would it be cheaper for a gunsmith to start with just the frame and other parts compatible with a model 10 and build it into a .38 Special (I see model 10 parts kits with all major parts but frame for $90), or buy another cylinder in .38 S&W that hasn't been spoiled?
Or is there just no fix for it?
