    Default My first 10/22 build

The donor rifle was a standard carbine (used)

I put OD green Hogue over mold stock on it

An OD green Tactical Solutions Fluted aluminum barrel, with a black Tac-Sol compensator.

A Tasco World Class 1.5-4.5 x 32mm scope (I painted OD green) & Butler Creek covers.

I don't know what rings are on it because they came out of my "odds & ends" box. I couldn't began to remember where half that stuff came from!!

I radiused the bolt, then added a VQ firing pin & extractor

I polished my trigger group & reworked my hammer angle. It is now a crisp clean 2lb. 4oz. I also did the auto bolt release mod & made my own extended mag release, Then painted the housing (you guessed it, OD green)

    Default custom 10-22

Very nicely done. The first is always the funnest. I just finished my first today, just received the trigger components in the mail today.
    Congrats!

    Default Nice job

In my opinion, most of the 10-22 builds are overblown, too tactical and tacky.
I like this one. (probably doesn't hurt that I absolutely love the Hogue stocks I have) If it shoots as good as it looks to me, it will be a winner.

I used to have a 62 and regret selling it. Someday I'll get another

Very cool, good looking plinker! Nice scout too!
I can't help but think that barrel is just begging for a .22 suppressor (OD green of course) to be complete!

I'm in the same boat. I'm sure it has to do with Upright Warn 8274 winch. Have one on my Ford. They are the bomb!

Are you going to show the rest of the class? I don't know about every one else, but I'd like to see what you put together.

    sooo nice!!
I just shot my factory spiral hammer forged hbar 10/22 for the first time in years today. I cannot believe its been sitting in a safe for nearly a decade unfired!
Your build inspires me!! What exactly does that muzzle device accomplish? The gun has almost no recoil IMO in a HBAR config...bullet stabilization? It is really nice looking!

The "muzzle device" is a compensator, & it's mostly for looks. It does help a little with barrel hop (the barrel is only 15 oz.
I mostly wanted something to help keep dirt out of the end of my barrel, as I have a bad habit of putting my muzzle on the floor board of my truck.

Nice. I did some trigger work to mine over the weekend, polished everything up, did the auto bolt release, and put an over travel screw in the trigger. Wish I was brave enough to try to rework the hammer. Probably just spend the $30 for a new one eventually.

If your trigger has over travel I highly recommend putting a set screw in it. Eliminate Trigger Over-Travel I put mine lower on the trigger then they show, more by the notch in the back of the trigger. I also have a polymer trigger so I didn't have to tap it, but worlds of difference.

I did put an over-travel on. I did mine a little different than most I've seen. I put mine in the trigger housing instead of in the trigger. I put it a little below the return spring, you can kind of see it in the first pic.

    Barrel hop on a .22?
