Yes, they are a drop-in BUIS just like the Troy, MI, etc

Nope, you'd need to also get the buffer tube, spring and buffer for a carbine.

MAGPUL STRONGLY SUGGESTS not using MBUS on gas blocks due to the fact that the sights are plastic! Just so you know and don't melt down your money.

He was asking if the MBUS rear sight would line up with a standard fixed gas-block front sight, which it does. And yes, the MBUS front sight is designed to be used on a handguard rail which is on the same plane as the rear sight, not a railed gas block.
