Here in OR they don't charge accomplices of dead criminals with Felony Murder the way they do in other states. So the surviving thug might get away relatively easily.

It's hard to guess whether he's likely to learn his lesson from the death of his buddy. A normal person would - but if he were normal he wouldn't have found himself in the situation in the first place. He might be just as likely to swear a vendetta against the homeowner, even if he would've done exactly the same thing had their roles been reversed.

"It was just like a gun - bam, bam, bam," Lani Loken told KVAL News. "It wasn't like a car backfiring or anything like that. It was definitely gunshots."
Uh... yep just like gunshots! What a great statement!

residents said they are thankful the police responded as rapidly as they did.

"My son heard the sirens even as he was heading down to try to find this young man," Loken said.
ask the home owner if they got there quick enough for him.

Another great example of why people need guns to protect themselves. Good for the homeowner. I am glad the good guy came out on top.

Check the latest reports on this article. The shooter was the homeowners adult son....Mom didn't even know he owned a gun. Good for being more sensible than his parents and being proactive.

In another news article, a Eugene woman awoke at 2:30AM to find an intruder touching her face. He made off with some belongings. Too bad she didn't send him packing with some extra holes.
