I have seen this a few times, what's mounted on the rail in front of the Eotech? A laser or IR light for NV?
If not mistaken I believe it is both as you said, but I am no expert.
That's what I was thinking but it looks like the surefire has an IR filter. I figured with the vast knowledge here I could find out.

That would be a yes and a yes.. its a combo unit that acts both as a aiming laser and an IR illuminator...

When I first saw this, I was totally baffled. Wtf would you want a red LED for on your carbine? Tactical map reading? I had to go to the surefire website and look at all their products before I figured out what it was.
