Sounds like a colossal waste of time. Just paint them black...

I've got a g23 on the way.... so I'm not against glocks or for xd's.... I just love this gun for my cc piece.... I used to have a 27... this just shoots more naturally for me.

you can try the caswell stainless blackening gel / sealer for $20 - 4 oz of gel and 4 oz of sealer with gloves in the kit.

here is the link - Caswell Inc. - Black Oxide Kit

no spray gun or baking required - apply gel, wait 1-2 min and rinse off, dry, apply sealer and let dry - dry time 10 min at room temp - remember not to rinse it off in a stainless sink unless you want it black too!

That's pretty cool, K. No spray gun to buy and the little video on that page makes it look impressively simple. Have you tried this stuff? If so, how is the durability?

I've never tried the stuff - just remember seeing it someplace - think it was at the shot show. Its always a blast to check out the new stuff at that show. It usually takes a full 2 days to see the whole thing.

If you try the stuff let me know how it turns out
