    As with many things such as cars, kitchen knives, etc, you get what you pay for. There are varying qualities in AR-15's. Yes, most of them shoot and will get the job done but you will have to pay more for a gun that has higher quality metals, more careful attention to fit and finish, and manufacturer ratings such as magnetic particle testing.

    S&W ARs are actually pretty decent. Bikerbo probably just didn't know what to look for when he bought it used because it is his first AR-15. It sucks getting ripped off. :/ *Probably* the fix is as simple as buying a new firing pin and dropping it in, but it is still pretty lame the previous owner did not mention it.
