That's kinda cool.
Now I can go more often than "every time I drive by on the way home from Seattle".

Can't wait!
The local Sportsman's, Fisherman's Marine, Dicks's, and all the rest have absolutely dropped the ball.
WAYNO.

5 minutes away from me !
I quit shopping at Fishermans in Ore City. The prices have gotten rediciuolous, Maybe they might be a little more competitive now ? I welcome Cabellas to the neighborhood.........

I am excited to see Cabela's come to Oregon City, not because they have good prices but it is a cool place to just walk around and look. By no means is Cabela's a DEAL store, if you had shopped there you would know they are higher that a kite for most things you would really want to buy(guns, ammo) things along those lines. I don't think they really pose a threat to any local dealers as far as PRICE is concerned with the exception of Keiths(nobody beads their high prices)
.
My only other concern living in Oregon City will be the traffic. For those of us who live and commute on the south end of 213 we know that traffic is already unbearable during rush hour, holidays and weekends. I guess they are starting a realignment project on 213 and maybe that will help?? Truth be known it needs to be three lanes each direction through Oregon City and Two to atleast Molalla. We will see what happens, I am sure as USUAL ODOT will drop the ball and "improve" the roads with new asphalt and pretty new planter boxes in the middle of the road just as they have done in downtown Oregon City.
Dismounting soapbox!
Happy Thanksgiving ALL!

yeah Dicks is pretty cookie cutter, more for apparel IMO. Cabelas will bring a ton of jobs & lots of 'tourist' dollars to local businesses. Maybe I'll get a job there...been looking for something more 'in line' with my values/interests!

It will be cool as you can do their internet specials minus the shipping if you pick it up there. I went to the bass pro shops store in Vegas it really was a destination , casino hotel, resturants, maybe they should have hooked up with the Indians nand put it at the greyhouynd track in troutdale.

It's on their website. I read about it a month ago, but I don't remember the date now.

It most likely will hurt and help local business. There is one thing that the large chain stores can't offer and that's the SERVICE after the sale. Can they install night sights on your new Springfield XD? Can they cut dovetails in the slide of the GI model you want upgraded sights on? Will they install a recoil pad, reblue your gun, do a custom trigger job or install a Timney trigger? Nope, but the local businesses & smaller shops can!
There's always a cheaper price to be found, whether it's online or on sale, just remember your local gun shops and economy when scouring the market for the absolute best deal... It's in the details!

Where are you seeing they are opening a store in Ore City? On the website they are only showing the coming springfield location. The more the better, if so!
