    Default 1911 Grip Preferences

I am lookng for some new slim profile grips for my 1911.

Do you guys prefer the Aluminum grips, or G-10 Composite type grips ....

I've found some nice wood ones also, which is what I have now ....

I'm not sure what the differences would be other than general texture and feel.

I prefer the G10. I have had both and sold all my Alumagrips for VZ. As far as the texture is concern you have more options with the VZ than any alum grips that I know of. Plus you have more color combo with the G10 grips (unless you consider custom painting/anodization) Just my 2 cents

I like the feel of VZs', G10, Elite Tactical Carry, on my 1911.

I'm all about the carbon fiber! It looks great and that texture is super grippy.

Alumagrips are kinda heavy for a carry gun. I like smooth cocobolo for IWB carry. Or sand the points down on a checkered pair, so they don't dig in to by belly roll. Alumagrips are nice for a range gun, because it adds a little weight. Wood or G10 has a warmer feel in the hand.

These aren't bad, for the money $25.

I ordered a pair of VZ Operator grips in the Black Sand color this morning .. Some of the others mentioned didn't offer slim profile. Got the new bushings and screws to go with.

    Default New Slim 1911 Grips

I went with the G-10 Operator Slim Grips From VZ in Black Desert Sand color ...

I like them. Added a little extra grip to the front strap while I was at it.

I ordered the grips late Saturday evening, and received them in the mail on Wednesday.

My new punisher grips fit perfect on my ultra carry. I got them from duragrip.com .
