So, how did it go? Hey, is there a current website for Speed Steel? I was looking and the website they have is pretty old and doesn't really talk about the sport very much.... Just wondering.

The website is mainly for scores.http://www.orss.org/

I did OK. I haven't cleaned my GSG for 4-5 months, so I started having a couple jams.

We will see in a few days when the scores are posted.

I will try to go once work picks up to a steady pace. I'd like to get some sort of optic on my gsg and the mags first.

I'll have mags in a week available, otherwise you can share mine

Just get a cheapo red dot optic and a $15 mount off e-bay and you will be good to go.

I charge $30 for customers that have bought the GSG from me and $39 for everyone else.

Loaners are free at Speed Steel though

I believe he shoots a Ruger Mark III

He competes on a national level............I think he is 15 years old.

His father is a few places behind me.

You must be talking about Nick (father) and Ryan Leonard.

Ryan is the current Steel Challenge Junior World Champion.

Interesting graphics of the course on the site. Do they have a link or a PDF of the "rules" and how it is set up and scored? Looks like fun.

Do you by any chance have the clips that hold two mags together? If so, how much? I'm thinking I need to get one more mag and a couple of those clips.

    The rules are simple.

Shoot the 5 steel targets as fast as possible.

You will get 5 chances and your worst time will be thrown out.

There is no running, mag changes, or shooting from concealment like IPSC shooting, so it is probably the easiest shooting sport to get into.
