Thread: French 7.62x51(308) info needed

I bought some 7.62x51(308) for a good deal
Headstamp sf and 71 w/NATO cross
I know it's French and 147 gr
It has black sealant around the bullet seat/brass cased but the bullet sticks to the magnet. Question is anybody use or has any more info on this? Several posts saying its corrosive and some saying its not. Is it light steel or what is it. Thanks in advance

Most likely AP ammo.

I could not find much information on this other then it is semi uncommon to come by.

I dont know if it is corrosive or not but just clean like it is and you wont have a problem. There is no reason to believe it is anything other then just a standard FMJ bullet. Not sure what you mean by light steel and highly unlikely to be AP.

Well brass cased and when I put a magnet to the bullet it is highly attracted to it. Thats why I was seeing if somebody on here has had experience with this stuff.

where did you get this? I want some....

AAAAHHHH it probably has a steel jacket vs copper. It is common in many euro bullets.
