    Default Compressed loads with A1680

Has anyone had any experience, good or bad, with compressed loads using Accurate 1680?

No experience, just an observation. Accurate doesn't seem to list any max loads that are compressed for this powder which would lead me to believe that it's not recommended. You didn't mention a cartridge so I checked the ones they say the powder is great for like 454 Casull and 7.62x39.

I would approach any compressed load using this powder with caution, absent any hard data showing it's safe.

I know my 300 whisper loves this powder for sub sonic loads with 220 SMK's and 11.5 grains. I tried some Nosler 165 BT's with 17.2 grains of AA1680 the other day and got pressure signs (flat primers) even though this load is 1.5 grains under max. This combination was slightly compressed. I don't know what cartridge you are loading, but that is the only experience I have using compressed loads of AA1680, for what it's worth.
