Default Winchester M-22 .22LR Bulk Ammo

Anyone shoot the Winchester M-22 .22lr bulk ammo? I spent some time shooting 22's with several family members this past weekend and we came across a good deal on the 'black box' Winchester M-22 ammo - 1,000 rounds at $23.99. Out on the range, we had a Sig Mosquito (picky with ammo), 2x Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 AR-style rifles, a Ruger 10/22, and an ATI GSG-522. The previous day we went shooting as well and shot mostly Federal bulk ammo, CCI Minimags, and CCI Blazers, experiencing no FTF's or FTE's. Shooting the M-22's was a totally different story. Every single gun had at least 3 FTE's and several FTF's. In addition to the FTF/FTE, we all noticed that the our groupings weren't as tight. 2 of our rifles were on sighting benches and the ammo was still way off. After much frustration, we all ditched the M-22 ammo and switched back to Federals and all was good.

My opinion - stay away from Winchester M-22. If all you wanna do is shoot then go for it. If you want precision then stay away.

Anyone else have any similar experiences? Good experiences?

I used to love the federal auto match stuff.

    Good feedback. Thanks!
